Position Title: Senior Inward Investment Adviser
Department/Section: UK Trade and investment (UKTI) , New Delhi
The position is on a two-year contract after which it will be subject to a review but is likely to be renewed.
1. UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is the international business arm of the British
Government. UKTI has over 1500 staff around the world across 90 countries.
It has 9 offices in major metros in India.
2. The UK is the world’s number one destination for Foreign Direct Investment and 50% of Indian FDI into the EU goes to the UK. UKTI is looking for an ambitious, experienced individual with strong business credentials to lead work to attract further Indian investment into the UK. The successful candidate will be based at the British High Commission in Delhi.
3. Main Purpose of Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to promote the UK as the preferred destination for investment and growth. The role will also involve encouraging technology tie ups, research and development and joint venture partnerships.
Key to the role will be identifying potential Indian inward investors, encouraging
and assisting them to set up or expand into the UK. The successful candidate will
act as the face of the British Government to Indian companies and will need to
manage relations with key decision-makers in expanding Indian corporates.
4. The key responsibilities include:
• Promoting the UK as the preferred inward investment destination;
• Leading a strategic approach to targeting Indian Corporates to attract further Indian investment into the UK;
• Managing relations with key decision makers in business and partner organisations UKTI works with to facilitate inward investment;
• Providing bespoke advice and assistance to Indian companies seeking to set up / locate in the UK; and
• Helping Indian corporates globalise through leveraging the strengths of the UK.
